Mina stood at a broken breakwater as she watched the sun set. She hadn’t
eaten dinner in days, maybe weeks. Nothing seemed appetizing. Only the
lingering smell of June’s curry when she got home stirred her stomach on
occasion from apathy. She frowned when she thought about how often she smelled
curry and how June probably did not have enough ingredients make healthy meals.
She really ought to go out and do some shopping. She had perhaps an hour before
the grocery stores closed.
The sun had set and the moon rose
long before Mina could stir herself and lithely come down from the broken
pieces of wall that once separated the land from the sea.
